Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being.
People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons – to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness.
Two fundamental categories of Massage Therapy are:
Relaxation massage - also known as Swedish massage; practiced in settings like spas, wellness centers and resorts
Rehabilitative massage – also known as deep tissue, medical, therapeutic or clinical massage; practiced in many settings like clinics, hospitals and chiropractic offices
At Find Inner Balance massage is all of the above and more. I use myofacial release, (knots in connective tissue and muscle) trigger point therapy, cupping, hot stones, essential oils and relaxation techniques to help the body heal. I like to think of the work as "coaxing the tightness and pain from the body, rather than beating it out."
Raindrop Therapy was developed by Dr. Young of Young Living Oils. It is a deeply healing and relaxing treatment using 12 high grade essential oils. I end the session with a hot stone compress or if desired a full massage with hot stone compress.
